The Magpie — Xi Que, the Harbinger of Happiness & Good Fortune
The magpie (xi que) is the bird of xi — of happiness, delight, and the arrival of wonderful things. When a magpie calls near your house in Chinese tradition, it is announcing good news: a visitor is coming, a wish will be granted, something joyful is about to unfold. Two magpies together — shuang xi, double happiness — is the supreme symbol of marital joy and the deepest human happiness, the emblem still used on wedding decorations throughout the Chinese world. The magpie pendant carries that energy of joyful anticipation: good news is coming, happiness is near, the best is yet to arrive.
A wonderfully joyful gift for weddings, engagements, new beginnings, and anyone who deserves a daily reminder that good news, happiness, and the best things in life are always on their way.
